    Graduation/University Requirements

    O'Connor Educational and Career Action Plan (Four-Year Plan):  This is an example of the four-year plan that all students will be creating and updating annually with their counselor.

     

    DVUSD High School Graduation Requirements:  Students must complete a total of 22 units of credit including the following courses:

    4 credits of Language Arts

     *2 credits of Math (3 credits of math for the class of 2012, 4 credits of math for the class of 2013 and beyond)

    *2 credits of Lab Science, one of which must be Biology (3 credits of Lab Science for students in the class of 2013 and beyond)

    1/2 credit of Health

    1/2 credit of Physical Education

    1 credit of World History

    1 credit of American/Arizona History

    1/2 credit of American/Arizona Government

    1/2 credit of Free Enterprise or Economics

    1 credit of Business, Fine Arts, Family Consumer Science, or Technology

    9 credits of Elective Courses (8 elective credits for the class of 2012, 6 elective credits for the class of 2013 and beyond)

    Must meet proficiency on all AIMS tests.

    *Class of 2012 - 3 credits of Math

    * Class of 2013 and beyond - 4 credits of Math & 3 Credits of Science

                    

     

     

    Requirements for Admission to Arizona Universities:  Your high school coursework must include the following courses.

    4 credits of Language Arts

    4 credits of Math (Algebra 1-2, Geometry, Algebra 3-4, and an advanced math class for which Algebra 3-4 is a prerequisite)

    3 credits of Lab Science (one year from three of the following:  Biology, Chemistry, Earth Science, or Physics)

    2 credits of Social Science including one year of American History

    2 credits of the same Foreign Language

    1 credit of Fine Arts

     

    The SAT or ACT is also required for admission to all state universities in Arizona.  See the link to the left for registration and test preparation.
